Summer
The Val Senales is a tributary of the Val Venosta, known
for its glacier ski area (3200 m), which guarantees snow all year round.
Perfectly prepared slopes, cross country ski trails and a snow park ensure
an unforgettable experience for skiers and snowboarders – also during
summer time. The Val Senales enchants its guests with fascinating and
untouched mountain scenery. Hiking and Nordic Walking in the Texel-Group
Nature Park, on ancient “Waal”-Ways or to the discovery site
of “Ötzi”, the Iceman. Trekking on the Merano High Mountain
Trail, guided high-alpine tours to the surrounding mountains (up to 3000+
meters), like the “Similaun” and the “Palla Bianca”
– these are just some highlights of an unforgettable hiking experience
along more than 240 km of hiking trails in Val Senales. In ancient farms
and pastures, you can taste homemade delicacies and learn centuries-old
traditions and customs of rural life. Climbing fans will definitely find
challenges of any level in the two climbing parks. Other great activities,
such as cycling, rafting, horseback riding, golf, mini golf, fishing,
etc. can all be found in Senales or nearby.

The Val Senales, however, has to offer
yet another spectacular event: the annual sheep drive of the Senales and
the Venosta farmers over the main alpine ridge to the summer pastures
in the Ötztal Valley in Austria. Every year, this nature spectacle
draws thousands of visitors and locals in its spell.
